Ray literally grew up on stage, beginning his pursuit of a career in acting as a teenager. Being a native New Yorker provided him the opportunity to study with some of the greatest teachers in American theater: Stella Adler, Uta Hagen and Lee Strasberg. However, he credits his mentor, Alice Spivak, with teaching him the art of acting.
Ray has performed in over a hundred plays in New York and LA. He departed New York for the West Coast after spending two years recurring as Travis on As The World Turns.
Since arriving in LA, Ray has worked continuously in film including: Catch Me If You Can, Ignofear, For The Love of Hate, Vanilla Sky and Think Like A Man Too. He has guest-starred on dozens of hit television shows including: NCIS: Los Angeles, The Blacklist
and Mad Men. He has also appeared in numerous web series:
Bleeding Hearts, The Inn, Madamoiselle Emanuelle and Pretty; The Series.
Currently, Ray can be seen playing Dr. Stanley Lipschitz on the hit USA Network show, Suits. He also returns as the mysterious and dangerous Doctor for season two of Bravo's highly-acclaimed series, Imposters.
You may recognize him, as well, as Reinhard Heydrich on Amazon's The Man In The High Castle.
In addition to speaking French and German, Ray has trained, and continues to train, in the study of world accents. He travels the world refining this skill and works extensively with many international accents that include: German, Austrian, French, Italian, British, Australian, Irish, Scandinavian, Russian, Eastern European, New York and Southern.
